UCI GRANFONDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – GRAN FONDO RIO DE JANEIRO 2021

UCI Gran Fondo Rio de Janeiro arrives in the city of Rio de Janeiro, a land of sublime beauty, friendly and welcoming people, cultural and social contrasts. The challenge will take place on May 2, 2021 and will have two distances (Gran Fondo with 115 km and Medio Fondo with 77 km) in an inspired route by the Olympic road cycling event of the Rio 2016 Olympics!

The international event, which is one of the 31 official stages of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, qualifies for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships to be held in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, this same year.

Founded on April 14, 1900 in Paris, France, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the worldwide governing body for cycling. Its mission is to develop and supervise this sport in all its forms, for all people, whether as a competitive sport, a healthy recreational activity, means of transport and, also just for fun. Having the UCI seal signifies, among other reasons, the guarantee of a very high standard cycling event.
